August arrived and with it the start of school. We were still enjoying night swimming and going on the boat as much as we could! End of July Sean and I did music for the girls' journey. It was a wonderful experience for both of us!
Sunset swims
Trip to the Living Desert with the three littles
Sophia is so bitty still.....she has a gymnast's body.
Sophia and I decided to include Mable Lou one day when painting nails. She actually just laid like this and let us do it!
Kayla and Anisa on the Journey
School year 2015-2016 first day- Grayer is a 1st grader in Mrs. Allen's room and Sophia is a 4th grader in Mrs. Hollis' room. Both are attending Sunset Elementary!
My beautiful girl looking so grown up
Didn't take long for Sophia to be named an ambassador at Sunset! It's something only 4th and 5th graders are asked to do when they demonstrate that they are good examples of what a student should be. They get to help with events, and have weekly meetings. She and Emmy both were "inducted" on the same day!
Apple picking up in Queen...so much fun. We came back with way too many apples that went bad way too fast. It was still a great afternoon with family.
Soccer season started up. We had a very good team and beat everyone- went undefeated. Go Ninja Warriors!
Just being silly one day at Walmart optical
We took the kids to Sitting Bull falls on a Monday they didn't have school. I forgot how nice it is up there. It wasn't crowded but the water was freezing! We had fun hiking around and getting in the water.
Took the kids for a walk down by the Flumes one day and caught this pretty amazing shot with my phone! The Flumes are beautiful, and we live so close to them we get to enjoy the view everyday.
We took the older kids to El Paso for a day at the end of August to school clothes shop. We even got to meet up with Matt and Kayla for lunch and some time together!
Discovering the dress up clothes....
Incredible NM sunset....no filter here at all
At the end of September Mable started really having a hard time with her leg. Her tumor had grown and it started bothering her and affecting her walking. She had a really bad day when we took these pictures late in the afternoon. We didn't know it would be our last full day with our Mable Lou. The next morning she couldn't stand, and I believe she was telling us that she was finished with the race. I took her in to the vet and had her put down. It was sad. And hard. But it was the best thing to do.
Saying goodbye that morning. I miss this dog so much! She had so many quirks- her smell, her groans when she settled in and slept, even her horrible gas! She was a unique dog and always loved to be loved on. She's up there with Zoe May now having a great time I'm sure.
