Swim Lessons and Sleeping Through the Night!!!

This little man is about to turn 1 in a couple of days. Whoa! That just flew by with the second baby. I'm almost scared to actually say it out loud, but Grayer has finally been sleeping through the night consistently this past week. It has been an entire year of ups and downs with his sleeping, more downs than ups, but we think he's finally figured it out! It's going on 6 nights now that he's gone to bed and slept until it's time to get up without lots of crying when he stirs. It seems crazy that we have gone an entire year without really good sleep, but I'm coming to realize that this is probably the more "normal" experience with a baby than what we had with Sophia (who slept 11 hours straight by 9 weeks old and never looked back!). Regardless, we love our Grayer Thomas to the moon and back!

We turned him around a few days ago. He likes being able to see us up front now.

All geared up for swimming at Nonnie and Poppie's. He likes the water, but doesn't like the baby float so much.

Last week Grayer had a nasty fever for 72 hours straight. I used these fever head patch things on him, and they helped to cool him down. He must have had roseola, because he broke out in the tale tale rash the day after his fever broke.

Last week and this week Sophia has been taking swim lessons. It did not start out well. The first day I forced her into the pool, and she cried while I tried to hide out in the pool house. After about 2 minutes of crying, she bolted and came screaming looking for me. We ended up watching that entire lesson poolside. Tuesday we went back and she had a much better day, and by Wed. here she is doing all sorts of crazy things in the water. She is so pumped about all of her new tricks. Here she is going down to touch the crab at the bottom of the pool.

learning to float on her back

jumping off the diving board; this week she's not holding anyone's hands anymore!

going down to retrieve the rings off the step - she can hold her breath for a long time....it's crazy!

She always has this look of pure joy and excitement on her face when she comes up from the water. They play "motorboat" and "ring around the rosies" and go under at the end. She had just come up.
