Right after Sophia finished school this year we left for California for vacation. Got up in the middle of the night and drove all the way to San Diego. The kids did great. San Diego was awesome. We loved every minute and already wish we could go back. We stayed at Capri By The Sea right on Pacific Beach. The temperatures were a little chilly, but a nice change from the heat we have here! After 5 nights there, we drove to LA for Disneyland for a couple of days. Here are some pictures from our travels....
stopping at in-n-out in yuma, az on the way to san diego!
we made it! kids begged us to play in the beach the first night there and we got some great pics at sunset
legoland in carlsbad, ca-- so impressed with this place! kids loved it and could ride nearly everything. it was super clean and not crowded, even on memorial day.
finding shells on the beach
taking a little pose with yoda at legoland
this is right after we got to san diego after being in the car for 14 hours! amazing beach and view right out of our condo.
new toms for everyone (except sean)
they loved jumping the waves
we buried dad!
i could have sat for hours in la jolla cove with these seals. they are amazingly fun to watch, and reminded me somehow of our dogs??! other than the fact that they are seriously stinky, they are beautiful animals
spent a day down in coronodo island and walked around del coronodo hotel--beautiful
our condo had a heated pool so the kids preferred swimming there over the beach. sophia and i had george washington hair!!
this one is just plain funny- we were in the elevator; grayer looks too cool to even speak to us
and we made it to Disneyland friday afternoon and caught some good rides
spent saturday, june 2, at the magic kingdom (aka happiest place on earth)! so happened to be our 11th wedding anniversary! sean says my happiest places on earth are target and kauai. he's right. his might just be in-n-out burger.
painted faces at the magic kingdom; we found out they do FREE touchups at any of their booths as long as they can see paint on the face. we took advantage:)
waiting on the fireworks show
sunday we spent the day at california adventure; sean had a mini-me that day:)
and a final pic from our last night of vacation in california
Our kids are so much fun to travel with at their ages! We are blessed to have been able to go on such a wonderful vacation. Probably won't be going to disney anytime soon again, but we got our fill of it this trip. I think next up is Maui........... (and Kauai if I can talk sean into it:)
