I haven't posted in awhile! The first part of April has just flown right on by. We had a wonderful Easter this year. Grayer and Sophia were totally into the whole thing - we dyed Easter eggs, we hid them (everywhere!), we hunted them, we ate them. We talked about Christ's resurrection and tried to explain that that is what Easter is really all about. Sophia's understanding of it is very sweet. She told us all about how Jesus was in a grave, and there was a big rock there, and then they went to find him and he was GONE! "He wasn't in the tomb anymore, mommy!", she would say. I'm not sure she understands fully what the word "tomb" means, but she definitely knows the story! We spent time at both family's houses this year, and had a wonderful Easter dinner at Aunt Kerri and Uncle Scott's house. Here are some pictures from this month so far....
Abby and Sophia were waiting while the Easter eggs were being hidden. I thought this was really a sweet picture.
Sophia and Emmy riding the bike together. I predict these two will be partners in crime together in the future at just 11 months apart!
The past few years one of our junior high schools has hosted an Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn where the track is. There are seriously probably thousands of those little candy coated marshmallow eggs that are individually wrapped scattered everywhere, along with pencils, gum, eggs with gift certificates, and other random things. We took the kids this year, and here they are very patiently waiting for them to say "GO!"
Sweet smiles. I have to say the highlight of our time here was watching Uncle Scott eat it on the grass. He was giving this little boy next to us a hard time about how he was going to beat him to the eggs, and when they said go that little guy (he was probably 10 or so) tripped Scott and he fell! It was so funny. Seriously the best part.
