This is the end of our travels, but I'll start from the beginning. Read on to find out about our wild week!
What a crazy week it's been for us! Last Wed. we headed off for Pagosa Springs, CO on a little vacation to meet the Tomlinson Family for a few days. On the drive up, we stopped at a beautiful natural ampitheater in Northern New Mexico. It was so much fun making sounds and hearing the echoes. The landscape in that part of NM is amazing! Then, we made it to Pagosa Springs to see our friends. We went swimming in their famous (and a little stinky) hot mineral springs, and let the girls toss rocks into the San Juan River. On Saturday morning, we headed to the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Ranch to see animals native to the area. We got to see a grizzly bear, mountain lions, elk, etc. Afterwards, the girls were going to go for a horseback ride. Sophia was up first, and made it about halfway through before the horse shook and she fell off. She was cut on her head, and the horse stepped on her right hand. After a race to the ER, we found out she had a fractured right thumb and needed sutures for the laceration. We came back home to NM on Sunday, where we had more x-rays done. These comfirmed a pretty badly dislocated right thumb, and so on Monday we took off for Dallas to have hand surgery at the wonderful Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Sophia did well during surgery, and had to stay one night. We came home Tuesday, but not after a major trip to Build-A-Bear to reward our very brave little girl. All in all, it was stressful, tiring, and scary, but we're thankful that she's going to be okay and that we were able to get it taken care of at one of the best children's hospitals for orthopedic conditions. We are blessed that we have 2 healthy children! Thank you for all of the prayers for us and Sophia.

Oh my, what excitement you guys have had!! If I would have known you guys were in Dallas I could have come to see you. But I realize what a crazy time that was, I'm so grateful Sophia is OK.
Tara,
I am so glad that Sophia is ok and that she was spared from a more serious injury. She will be in good hands with you watching out for her recovery.

So glad to hear that you guys went to Scottish Rite, they are great. Let us know if you have to come back to Dallas for Follow-up, etc. We would love to see you and there is always free room at the Hotel Towne if you can handle being around 4 loud and crazy kids!
