Durango Trip

Sean's dad, George, turned 60 this past April. For his birthday, he wanted us to all go on a family vacation together, and he chose Durango, Colorado. So, our family, Kerri and Scott and their 3 girls, and Connie and George all drove up to Durango to spend almost a week in this beautiful country. We had a great time and the weather was awesome while we were there. Here are some pictures from our trip....
This was the view from our condo. We actually stayed about halfway between Durango and Silverton.

At Durango Mountain Resort, or Purgatory as it used to be called. In the summer you can buy a pass and do all sorts of fun things, like bungee jumping (the stationary kind where you're hooked up to the bungees), the alpine slides, putt putt, and the chair lifts.

Grayer with his Poppie!

We went to a melodrama the second night we were there, excited that the kids would have a lot of fun and get into the booing and cheering during the play. It turned out to be a real dud........no booing or cheering, hissing or yippeeeing, even though they coached us on it beforehand. I guess the audience that night just didn't get it, or it wasn't obvious when to do it. The play itself was so so. It was fun to go, but not the greatest show. Oh well!

Waiting to go white water rafting - we went with a group called Outlaw Tours. This was one of the only rafting tours that would take a child as young as Grayer. Let me tell you, this was FUN!! One of the best things we did......the kids absolutely loved it.

All 11 of us in the raft with our tour guide, Charlie. We got a CD with these great pictures on it.

We went over some boulders and down some dips. I think I had the wettest seat on the raft, in the front left in this picture. The water was pretty cold too!

The last night we were there we went to a Bar D Chuckwagon, where we had an "authentic" chuckwagon meal and some super funny entertainment. The kids liked seeing the train and shopping in the toy store.

Holding the monster sucker and having fun with Dad

At the ski resort
Nonnie and Poppie with all of their grandchildren - from left to right: Abby, Sophia, Grayer, Emmy, and Shelby

And there was some bullriding competition between Sean and Scott.........

Scott's turn where he rode the full 8 seconds on even the hardest level!

Grayer getting a turn on the mechanical bull, but not turned on!

Fun with the train cutouts
