Camping

Last weekend we went on our first camping trip with the kids. We went up near Cloudcroft with families that we've been friends with for a long time now. There were 4 families, 8 kids! We had a great campsite with bathrooms and a covered pavilion. We didn't know going into this that we would have either of those things, but we were really thankful we did, especially with all of the rain we had! We did have to cut the trip a little short and come home Saturday night because it was raining hard and getting pretty cold. We had a great time though, and the kids loved every minute of it!

Nicole and Amy under the pavilion- I think we brought and packed enough for about 10 families, but better to have too much than not enough!

Kacy and Sophia hanging out near the campfire

Daddy, Sophia, and Grayer - yes Grayer has his finger up his nose. That's where it can be found most days.......

Jerry, Nicole, and Charise! We went on a beautiful hike, which would have been even better if Sean and I didn't have to alternate carrying Grayer most of the time. We didn't think to take a carrier like the rest of our friends, so we just took turns hauling him around.

Delaina and Brenna on our hike

Grayer's carrier = mommy's shoulders

Sophia found a ladybug. She was pretty fascinated by the worms she discovered on this trip, and dubbed herself the "worm doctor"!

By the campfire at night! The kids had glow bracelets and necklaces, and we made s'mores!

Nicole made "pudgy pies" with bread, butter, and pie filling. She just roasted them over the fire in this little metal sandwich thingy!

Still fascinated with worms

Playing with fire! But safely with parents around and long sticks!

Grayer had so much fun with Dathan. Yippee!! Another boy to play with!! He calls him "dafan". Here Dathan is introducing Grayer to the worms!

So proud of his boat full of worms. I just loved this picture. His smile is priceless!

We had a great time and are planning on doing it again next year!
