A Rainbow of a Day!

Yesterday we had Sophia's 4th birthday celebration, even though her actual birthday isn't until Tuesday, the 9th. She requested a "rainbow" party this year, and I did all I could to make it happen! Here is what we came up with this year....it was lots of fun.

Here's the pretty birthday girl next to the cupcake table - we had a cupcake decorating area with lots of sprinkles, candy and icing writers!! My friend, Nicole, let us borrow her awesome cupcake tree to display all of the iced goodies waiting for their toppings!

We had sand art tables - 2 of them. And lots of different fun little plastic bottles to fill up....fish, butterflies, princesses, and unicorns. It was messy, but lots of fun. The one thing I guess I didn't go over so well was not to shake the bottle once you filled it up! We ended up with lots of bottles full of brown sand (from mixing up all of the colors!). Oh' well. They liked it anyways.

We had a table of rainbow goodness, complete with another cake, snacks from every color of the rainbow, and fake clouds on the table (aka parchment paper...he he he)!

Let me tell you, this was a lot of fun to make! And easy! Just layered 6 different colored batters into 3 pans, baked, iced, and voila! And it was so darn yummy.

We had about 12 or 13 girls here, and they blessed Sophia with lots of special presents. She got this fun little outfit from my cousin, and wanted to put it on right away! I think she's showing off her zhu zhu pet here. We're just waiting until this thing gets caught up in either her or Grayer's hair (since it scampers all around and had a warning sticker on it to keep it away from hair!! yikes!!) All in all, it was a wonderful day of celebrating a wonderful little girl. Sophia is full of happiness, joy, laughter, and sweetness. She is our beautiful girl who blesses us every single day. Sophia - it's such an honor to be your mommy and watch you grow into God's little princess. He has big plans for you, sweet girl. We love you so much! Happy Birthday, Sophs.
